Criteria D
For every problem there is a solution. This issue of online shopping putting office computers in risk can be resolved. One of the main problems with this issue is the limited productivity of people when doing personal things such as e-commerce and privacy of company information. Hence a possible solution can be used to resolve this issue in order to stop people from doing personal tasks during work hours and on office computers. This can be achieved by monitoring the hours of employees and everything that they do on the office computers. Employees should be monitored by bugging there computers in order to see exactly what they are and whether if its work related or not. If this is not implemented the company’s future will be at risk, both financially and productively.

Many people can classify this as a violation of human privacy, but it is not because it is only done for the benefit of the company and in order to ensure all employees are doing their job and getting paid exactly for what they do. In addition personal tasks should be done at home and not during work hours. For example homework should be done at home and during school as it will interfere with the productivity with of the schoolwork. There is a place palace and time for everything. By ensuring this method it can have a very positive affect on the company’s business. This solution is feasible because it can be done and both parties will have their work done and privacy secured.

Criteria C
Online shopping allows anyone to buy things easy, less time consuming and more convenient way than getting up and going to a shopping mall. when a person is shopping online they can see exactly what they are buying and also offers additional assistance information about the product, which makes online shopping so trendy. Although all of these reasons are positive online shopping can also have negative consequences on people and society as a whole.
One the many troubles people face while shopping online is security. The information of the user and the expense data is encrypted by SSL when it is transferred on the Internet. Another key security issue is how the online business can find out the identity of the consumer. “Privacy of personal information is a big issue. In spite of Privacy Guidelines of the OECD, for example, privacy violations still occur and hamper eCommerce from developing to its full potential.” (Answers.com). one of this problems that this can have on companies is that people work less because they are focusing more on personal tasks and also exposing office computer systems to fraud. An issue that involves e-commerce is online shopping in workforces with the use of office computers. If an e-commerce site is not secured an individual may be giving company information away without even knowing. For example if a site has spy ware then it will just cause a lot of problem so the company and the individual. E-commerce can also lead a person to check their bank accounts and can eventually lead them to downloading software and hence putting these computers at dangerous financial and other confidential dangers.

Criteria B
In order for an individual to shop online they must have a computer and access to the internet. In simple term the computer is “a device that computes, especially a programmable electronic machine that performs high-speed mathematical or logical operations or that assembles, stores, correlates, or otherwise processes information.” (Ansers.com)

The World Wide Web functions using HTML code and other features. It’s a big network and is powered by impersonal routers, servers, browsers and computer codes; it's fundamentally a tool for connecting people and information. (Howstuffworks.com). In order for the internet to function properly it needs a computer that is why both these IT systems are needed for e-commerce.

A very well known online shopping website is www.amazon.com. In order for a person to purchase from Amazon they must set up a user name and password for their account. Figure [1] below illustrates how it functions using both a computer and the internet.

The figures below show how simple online shopping. Another IT system that is needed for online shopping is a bank account and accredit card. Figure [2] elucidates how important it is for an individual to have a credit card and a bank account.
Due to the wide spread of computers nowadays it is easy to see why people would prefer to e-commerce just sitting on a computer a shopping without having to go anywhere. Not only are computers widespread but it is very unusual to find a person that does not have internet access, a bank account or a credit card, which is one the main reasons why e-commerce is so popular today.

In the future there may not be any more shopping malls due to the increasing popularity and convenience of online shopping credit cards will be replaced by cash.

Portfolio 2

Criteria A

This portfolio addresses the issue of the effect of online shopping on computers particularly in businesses and employment. Countless people all over the world go online shopping on a daily basis. Online shopping is a form of shopping that utilizes technology and is a method for consumers that they must undergo in order to purchase their products or other services. It helps the consumer to acquire these things in the comfort of their homes or other places such as offices or any other place that has computers and internet.

Some of the most crucial IT systems involved in the process of online shopping are computers and the internet. Online shopping is and electronic commerce. Although it can be useful, many people have abused this by shopping in their workforces using office computers. Many concerns have risen about online shopping interfering with the quality of work people produce, especially in offices. Online shopping can also put office computers as risk, because you are accessing unsecured sites which can have programs such as spy ware and hack into the offices systems and obtain confidential information about companies. “Workers with office computers who participate in year-end gift giving report said they will do one-third of their gift shopping online, up from about a quarter a year ago, according to a Business Software Alliance survey. Of those who will shop online, one-third will do some or most of their online shopping from their work computer, compared with 28 percent who did so last year, the BSA found.” (Reed, Audrey)

As people continue to shop online daily using office computers, their company’s privacy and financial well being is prone to be jeopardized. In order for its popularity to continue laws should be established and implemented to prohibit individuals from shopping online during work hours and within the company offices.
